Blast in Latakia Attributed to Israeli Attack on Russian Missile Stockpile

A loud blast heard late Sunday night in the Syrian port city of Latakia is being blamed on an Israeli air raid on a storage facility containing stockpiled Russian missiles according to a Lebanese news source. Although the suspected Israeli mission remains unconfirmed by any other source, the Hizbullah terrorist organization, an Iranian proxy, recently bragged that it now has the capability to attack Israeli naval vessels with newly-acquired weapons smuggled in from Syria. In response, Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu said that Israel will not allow the transfer of sophisticated weapons such as the S-300 missile system believed to have been delivered to Syria and off-loaded in Latakia with a final destination of Lebanon and Hizbullah.
