Body of Missing Israeli Soldier Found; Investigation Underway

An Israeli soldier who went missing on Monday has been found dead. The body of 20-year old Eliezer Ashkenazi of Kfar Saba was located hours after he was reported missing after leaving his home on Sunday. The army has said an investigation is under way, but so far there has been no obvious answer to whether Ashkenazi’s death was tied to terror. It was reported that he had left his army identification at home, but he did have his weapon with him when he left home. Whether or not his rifle was recovered when the body was discovered has not been disclosed. There was also no indication that Ashkenazi was ever a discipline problem.
