Bomb Blast Outside Afghanistan’s Supreme Court Kills At Least 21

At least 21 people were killed and 40 wounded in a bomb blast outside the Supreme Court in the center of the country’s capital of Kabul. Government officials said it was the latest in a series of attacks on the judiciary. There was no immediate claim of responsibility, but officials said a suicide bomber targeted employees leaving their offices at the end of the work day. Last month, Taliban bombers killed more than 30 people and wounded about 70 in two blats in a crowded area of the city during rush hour. The Taliban, which has been fighting to bring down the US-backed Afghani government and force foreign forces to leave the country, claimed responsibility for that attack. Afghan government forces control about two-third of the country’s territory.
