Bomb Blasts Injure Several at Rush Hour in Cairo

At least five people were wounded during Wednesday morning rush hour in Cairo when four small bombs exploded in strategic locations. The incident was the first of its kind since Abdel-Fatteh Al-Sisi was sworn in as president. Security forces have been battling Islamists primarily in the northern Sinai Peninsula, and occasional attacks have been made against army assets in the Cairo area. But Wednesday’s explosive devices were apparently set to injure random civilians. None of the injuries were said to be life-threatening.
