A rush-hour blast ripped apart Istanbul’s main Taksim Square, injuring at least two dozen people, according to initial reports. The attack appeared to have been carried out by a suicide bomber. Video footage from the site showed body parts on the ground. The bombing occurred shortly after 9:00 a.m. local time, just a few hours before a two-month-old ceasefire by Kurdish rebels was set to expire. While the square is popular among tourists and locals alike, the target may have been a riot-police station in the square.
