Bush Leads International Condemnation of Latest Lebanese Assassination

Walid Eido became the seventh anti-Syrian Lebanese politician to be assassinated in two years when he was killed in a bomb blast in Beirut on Wednesday. United States President George W. Bush was among the world leaders condemning the attack. Bush fell short of accusing Syria of being behind the attack, but he called on Damascus and Tehran to end their attempts to destabilize Lebanon. Eido, his son and two bodyguards were killed in the explosion, which took place close to the beachfront.
