Car Bomb Kills 5 in Tripoli; Soldiers Apparent Target

A car bomb exploded on a bus carrying soldiers in the Lebanese city of Tripoli early Monday morning. At least 5 people were reported dead and 28 wounded. Three of the dead are soldiers. It has been six weeks since a bomb targeted another bus in Tripoli killing 18. 17 people died when a car bomb exploded in Damascus on Saturday. A Syrian opposition group claimed that the bomb was aimed at Syrian intelligence officers. No group has taken responsibility for either Tripoli attack.
