Two vaccines for COVID-19, one Chinese and one Russian, are now in third-phase trials in the United Arab Emirates. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, the vice president and prime minister of the UAE and emir of Dubai, has been vaccinated along with other leaders of the Gulf nation. Some 42 vaccines are currently at phase-three according to the World Health Organization, of which 10 are at the stage of clinical trials.
