Syrian President Bashar Al-Asad said on Wednesday that he’s ready to return to indirect talks with Israel. His host during a visit to Croatia, President Stipe Mesic, expressed his own willingness to pick-up as mediator where Turkey’s Recip Tayyip Erdogan left off after brokering four rounds during Israel’s previous administration. There have been no talks since Binyamin Netanyahu became prime minister. Al-Asad conditioned his readiness on Israel agreeing to resume talks at the point at which they left off.
