An explosion Saturday morning rocked a camp along the Syria-Jordan border where Syrians who had to flee from their homes are living. At least eleven people were killed and many were wounded. There has been no responsibility taken for the attack. The incident comes during a ceasefire brokered by Russia and Turkey that has seen many violations by both troops loyal to President Bashar Al-Assad and the rebel forces. On Monday, representatives from Turkey and Russia will be joined in the Kazakh capital of Astana by United Nations officials and envoys from the combatants in an effort to shore-up the ceasefire. But chances that the truce will improve are extremely doubtful since the rebel side will not include Al-Qa’ida-linked fighters from the Al-Sham front who refuse to attend because it believes that would open the door to Assad staying in power. In return, Russia and Syria refuse to allow Al-Sham to participate even if they would be willing.
