After Deadly Jerusalem Attack, IDF Readies To Demolish Terrorist’s Home

Adiel Kolman, a 32-year-old father of four from the Kochav Hashachar West Bank Jewish community, was stabbed to death in the Old City of Jerusalem Sunday afternoon, the third Israeli killed in a terror attack in the past three days. The perpetrator, named as 28-year-old Abd al-Rahman Bani Fadel from the Palestinian town of Aqraba, located near Nablus, was shot dead by security forces. He had entered Jerusalem using a five-day permit, issued by the Israeli army, allowing him to seek out job opportunities. Early Monday, IDF soldiers began preparations to demolish Fadel’s home, a controversial practice whose proponents argue deters future attacks, whereas critics view the move as an ineffective form of collective punishment. Kolman’s murder came just 48 hours after two Israeli soldiers were killed in a car-ramming in the West Bank, as Palestinians held widespread “rage” demonstrations—which quickly devolved into violence—to mark 100 days since U.S. President Donald Trump recognized Jerusalem as Israel’s capital. In response, Israeli forces launched large-scale raids in Palestinian villages and overnight arrested 15 people for suspected involvement in terrorism. After a lengthy manhunt, security personnel captured 19-year-old Abed al-Karim Assi, an Arab-Israeli suspected of killing rabbi Itamar Ben-Gal in February.
