The German weekly news magazine Der Spiegel has alleged that Israel spied on US Secretary of State John Kerry during the SecState’s attempt to broker peace between Israel and the Palestinians. The allegation was that Israeli intelligence listened in on Kerry’s telephone conversations and that at least one other security service did the same. The magazine alleged that Israel “used this information in the negotiations.” Neither Kerry nor the Israeli government would comment on the report. Recently, the German government discovered that the US National Security Agency was spying on Chancellor Merkel.
