Dozens of Refugees Dead on Greece’s Coast, Including Children

Remember little Aylan, the three-year-old Syrian refugee who washed up, face down, on a Turkish coast last summer?

Up to 50 refugees drowned during the night between Friday and Saturday in two separate Aegean Sea shipwrecks.

The first boat hit rocks near the Greek island of Farmakonisi, while the second overturned near Kalolimnos.

Many of those killed were children.

More than 700 people have died in the Aegean crossing from Turkey to Greece, with at least 100 dying in the Aegean in the first month of 2016.
