Commercial airliners were chased from Dubai International Airport on Sunday for fear of drone activity for the second time this year. The brief interruption in service came at midday. Reuters reports the airport authority refused to comment on the incident. Rumors that the Iranian-backed Houthis launched a drone that penetrated the Abu Dhabi airport in July 2018 were never confirmed. There was a drone incident at London’s Gatwick Airport last December but that, too, remains unconfirmed. The Dubai airport is the world’s leader in the number of international flights in and out.
