Egypt Claims to Have Killed 13 Terrorists in Sinai

The Egyptian military claims to have killed 13 terrorists in a raid on a farm house in the western region of the Sinai Peninsula on Friday. The operation comes a week after a police convoy was attacked, but there was no confirmation that the two incidents are related. The location of the farm house was described as “far away” from the typical target areas in order to have a facility where new recruits could be processed and explosive devices could be assembled. Meanwhile, as the government continues its battle with terrorist forces, the Reuters news agency is reporting that preparations on behalf of President Al-Sisi’s re-election are gearing up. Although the former military chief appears to have little to be concerned about, he has not announced his intention to run in the election scheduled for six months from now.
