The resting place of Egypt’s Boy King is getting a make-over after only 3,000 years. Work has begun on the iconic golden sarcophagus where King Tutankhamen has spent the Millennia. For the next eight months, experts in Cairo will restore the wood and gold coffin in an operation said to be painstaking because of the delicate condition of the box. King Tut ascended the throne and remained pharaoh until the age of 18 or 19. The sarcophagus was one of the most renowned archaeological finds ever when discovered by Howard Carter in 1922.
