Egypt’s national carrier, EgyptAir, has used one of its cargo fleet to transport the world’s heaviest woman from Cairo to India, for surgery. Egyptian media identified the 36-year old woman as Iman Abdel-Atti, reporting her weight to be 1,100 pounds. According to the Egyptian news portal that reported the story, Abdel-Atti petitioned the government for permission to travel to India for a series of surgical procedures related to her weight. She was lifted by crane into the cargo bay on her first day out of her house in 25 years.
