Egyptian Foreign Minister Ahmad Abul Gheit lashed out at Israel during a speech to the U.N. General Assembly on Saturday, accusing the Jewish state of lacking the will to enter “serious and credible negotiations” with the Palestinians. Abul Gheit was referring to Israel’s refusal to halt all construction activity in areas it acquired in the 1967 war. Israel insists its building policy is not the sole obstruction to the peace process moving forward as the Arab states and the Obama administration are suggesting.
