At a news conference on February 17, Egyptian authorities will reveal the results of DNA testing performed on the remains of Tutankhamun. The ruler, known as the “boy king,” reigned 1333 to 1324 B.C., roughly from the age of 9 until about 19. When his tomb was located in 1922 by British archaeologists, the treasures he was buried with captured the imagination of the public. The news conference will take place at the Cairo Museum.
