Eight Hizbullah Fighters Killed in Syria

Al-Jazeera reports that eight Hizbullah fighters were killed in battles with rebel forces in the villages of Idlib and Halab. More than 1000 members of Hizbullah have been killed since the start of the Syrian civil war, according to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights. Hizbullah, along with Iran, and most recently Russia, have allied themselves alongside embattled Syrian President Bashar al-Assad. Almost five years into the fighting between Assad, Syrian rebels and Islamic State, the civil was shows no sign of ending. At least 250,000 people have been killed, and millions have fled Syria, straining the resources of nearby countries including Lebanon and Turkey.
