Erdogan Sends Bodyguards to Attack Protesters, the Complains US Guards weren’t Nice

Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan is being criticized and ridiculed for his demonstration of demagoguery and thuggery in Washington last week. As he emerged from the Turkish embassy following a White House meeting with President Trump, he apparently set his body guards on protestors who were legally demonstrating against his policies outside the embassy. Erdogan watched from his limo as his henchmen attacked, kicked and pummeled those assembled while American guards and police entered the scene to stop the melee. Amazingly, it was Erdogan’s envoy who called in the US ambassador for a diplomatic dressing-down and formal complaint that the Americans showed “aggressive and unprofessional” behavior toward his attacking guards. Before Erdogan’s visit, the administration was criticized for hosting the Turkish leader who has launched an assault on free speech and human rights with no mention of such behavior in the meeting with the president or the press conference that followed.
