The Ethiopian Foreign Ministry said on Wednesday that about 50,000 of its nationals have been flown home from Saudi Arabia after being expelled as illegal immigrants. By the time the airlift is over, 80,000 are expected to have been sent packing by King Abdullah. More than 200,000 Ethiopians sought overseas work last year, mostly women looking for domestic jobs. Those placed in Saudi Arabia have complained about physician and mental abuse; low pay; and poor working conditions according to the AFP news agency.
