European Ex-Leaders Oppose Trump Plan before It’s Released

European leaders who are no longer in their positions have joined together to reject President Trump’s Mideast Peace plan even before it’s released. The reason: the Washington Post rendition of the plan’s details which deny the Palestinians statehood. The mechanism used was an open letter published in the UK’s Guardian newspaper that was signed by six former prime ministers, twenty-five previous former ministers and two previous UN Secretaries General. Abandoning the two-state mantra was the rationale given along with criticism that the United States has demonstrated “a disturbing indifference to settlement activity.”
