An explosion of still unknown origin killed a woman and seriously wounded another Wednesday morning at Turkey’s second-most important international gateway in Istanbul. The blast, which occurred in an area where planes park outside the terminal at Sabha Bokken International Airport killed a 30-year old airplane cleaner working on planes belonging to the Turkish flag carrier Pegasus Airlines. So far there is no indication whether the explosion was an act of terror or whether the bomb had been intended to be smuggled aboard a plane but detonated prematurely.

The Media Line's intrepid correspondents are in Israel, Gaza, Lebanon, Syria and Pakistan providing first-person reporting.
