FBI Investigation of Jared Kushner Heats Up with Report of Unreported Contacts with Russia
The FBI investigation of contacts between the Trump transition team and administration is focusing increasingly on Trump son-in-law Jared Kushner, but according to the Bureau, he is not yet a subject of the investigation. According to reports, Kushner showed up on the FBI’s radar as it began to investigate Michael Flynn, who was forced to resign from his post as National Security Adviser because of allegations of improprieties. At least two undisclosed contacts between Kushner and the Russians are being looked at by the FBI. Reports indicate Kushner was involved in setting up secret channels of communication between the Trump team and Russian President Vladimir Putin that would bypass all agencies of both governments. The Reuters news agency is reporting that Kushner is under investigation to determine whether he discussed a Russian proposal for American economic sanctions to be eased and Russian banks to then provide funding to associates of President Trump.
