Fear of Limited Invasion of Israel by Hizbullah Grows

Military planners in Israel are deep into the preparation of contingency plans, aggressively preparing to once again doing battle with Lebanon – based Iranian-proxy Hizbullah. Although time and place are unknown, and any number of factors could be the trigger, those charged with the nation’s defense are growing more certain that it’s “when” and not “if” hostilities break out. The Iranians have been escalating in measured steps, each time apparently marveling at the lack of any significant retaliation after the mining of two oil tankers, the shooting down of an American drone and attacking Saudi Arabian oil fields, inflicting heavy damage. It is expected that Hizbullah’s Radwan unit will take the lead – a special forces group from the Iranian army that is experienced and battle-tested from its time in Syria, fighting side-by-side with President Assad’s forces.
