Flydubai, the Dubai-based airline, has resumed its flight services to Kabul, Afghanistan, marking a significant step in reconnecting Afghanistan with international air travel. State-run Radio and Television Afghanistan confirmed the resumption of these flights on Wednesday. This development comes as a welcome change following the suspension of most international airlines’ services to the war-torn country since the withdrawal of the US-led coalition forces in late August 2021.
Additionally, TOLOnews, a private TV channel, reported that Air Arabia, another airline from the United Arab Emirates, is also set to begin its flight operations to Kabul shortly. The restart of these services is anticipated to facilitate better connectivity and support for Afghanistan, which has faced isolation in the aviation sector in the aftermath of the coalition forces’ exit.
