A minister in the Yemeni government told the Reuters news agency on Saturday that former President Saleh is interfering with the transition to the new government and might be receiving the support of Western nations to do so. Human Rights Minister Hooria Mashhour told the news agency that “[Saleh] has not stopped political activity and his interventions and messages are not good…He wants to hinder us from rebuilding our country.” The minister said there are signs that the Saleh administration was a “police-intelligence regime” and that there are signs that such behavior remains, citing “hundreds of forced- disappearances.”
