Four Israelis Wounded in Terrorist Attack in West Bank

Four Israelis were wounded, one seriously, in a gunfire attack in the West Bank. Paramedics said all four Israelis, in their 20’s, are suffering from bullet wounds in their upper and lower bodies. Military officials said it was not clear if it was a drive-by shooting or an ambush. The army set up roadblocks and checkpoints in the area and large forces were searching the area for any leads. No organization claimed responsibility, but it was the fourth attack on Israelis in four days, and the sixth terror attack since the beginning of the Muslim holy month of Ramadan ten days ago. “The term ‘trickle’ with regards to terrorism is a lie,” Acting Samaria Regional Council head, Yossi Dagan, said after the attack. We are not willing to get used to this situation in Judea and Samaria as it happens and has been happening for years with the rocket fire in the south.” Israel Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu sharply attacked the Palestinian Authority’s silence over the wave of attacks, telling Italy’s Foreign Affairs Minister Paolo Gentiloni he said that “the fact that until this moment the Palestinian Authority has not condemned these attacks should disturb not only us but also the entire international community.” The attacks came despite an Israeli decision to ease restrictions on Palestinians entering Jerusalem for Ramadan, although permission from the Gaza Strip was cancelled after several rockets were fired at southern Israel.
