Gaza Powder Keg on Verge of Total Eruption

The Israel Defense Forces struck a Hamas military compound in the Gaza Strip after terrorists fired a rocket at an Israeli fighter jet in a bid to down it. Earlier Wednesday, an IDF tank targeted a separate Hamas post in response to three rockets launched from Gaza that set off sirens across Israeli communities located near the shared border. The latest conflagration came after Israeli Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu on Tuesday night was rushed off stage during an election campaign rally in the southern city of Ashdod, which had come under rocket fire. The city is situated approximately 30 miles from Gaza. Some experts view the expanding range of Hamas rocket fire as a prelude to the potential outbreak of a more severe conflict.
