German Chancellor Angela Merkel and much of her cabinet arrive in Israel on Monday for a two-day visit. The Israeli and German cabinets are slated to hold a joint government meeting; the third time such an event has occurred since 2008 and symbolizes warm relations between Israel and Germany. Her visit comes just one month after the German president visited Jerusalem. Merkel will not be visiting the Palestinian Authority during her visit here.
