Hamas Accused of Preventing Fuel Oil from Reaching Gaza Hospitals

The Palestinian Health Ministry is accusing Hamas of preventing fuel oil from reaching hospitals in the Gaza Strip. In a statement, the ministry said "members of Hamas opened fire on Sunday on fuel trucks that were full of fuel destined for hospitals in the territory." Meanwhile, Hamas is asking the Palestinian association that oversees fuel deliveries to end its strike, claiming the job action is the reason the tanks are full and fuel is not reaching the appropriate end-users. Hamas charges that because of Israel‘s actions, virtually all fuel-driven activities from operating hospitals to baking bread have drawn to a halt. Israel, for its part, claims the fuel storage depots in Gaza are full and that Hamas is artificially creating the impression of a humanitarian crisis to gain world sympathy.
