As the fighting between Fatah and Hamas continues, there are increasing signs that Hamas is winning the battle and is taking hold of much of the Gaza Strip. Fatah fell short of quitting the unity government with Hamas when its leadership met on Tuesday evening. Instead, the organization decided to boycott all cabinet meetings for the time being. For its part, Hamas failed to attend a meeting organized by Egypt aimed at brokering a deal with Fatah. Israel weighed in on Tuesday by announcing it would not be interfering in events in Gaza.
