Hamas to Execute 3 on Thursday

Hamas, the rulers of the Gaza Strip, will execute three men on Thursday, all of whom were convicted of helping Israel kill a Hamas commander. Mazen Fuqaa was gunned down near his home last March and fingers immediately pointed at Israel. The Hamas attorney general announced the schedule for the executions, and in a strange twist said that among spectators at the executions would be representatives of human rights organizations. Such organizations have been vocal in trying to prevent the trio of executions, expressing alarm at the fact that Hamas no longer allows for appeals of military court sentences. Also of alarm is the speed from verdict to death. Tuesday’s defendants will be killed within mere days of receiving their sentences
