In its official response to the UN-backed Goldstone report Hamas said that the hundreds of rockets it fired during last January’s clash with Israel were intended to hit military targets. The response was leaked to the international media and was expected to be submitted to the UN later this week. It said that the strikes on Israeli civilians were accidental and unintentional and the result of the inaccuracy of its rockets.
The Goldstone report by the UN Human Rights Council accuses the Islamist organization of war crimes when it deliberately targeted Israeli towns and villages.
