Hamas Could Trigger War by Directing its Funds Away from Gaza

Another war could be triggered by Hamas’ directing vast sums from Iran to building its terror infrastructure rather than solving the growing humanitarian crisis in the Gaza Strip according to the Israeli military chief-of-staff. A similar thought was echoed by Trump envoy Jason Greenblatt who, after to touring a terror tunnel built by Hamas tweeted, “Imagine what the people of Gaza could do with the $100 million Iran gives Hamas annually that Hamas uses for weapons and tunnel to attack Israel!” Greenblatt added that, “Iran spends almost a billion dollars a year sponsoring terrorism in Lebanon, Israel and West Bank/Gaza. This blood money only increases violence and does nothing to help the Palestinian people.” Chief-of-Staff Gadi Eizenkot’s comments came at the weekly cabinet meeting where he notably refrained from accusing Hamas of wanting to provoke a war. But Israel’s top soldier warned that the humanitarian crisis is growing at such a pace that the anger and desperation the abysmal living conditions coupled with the impact of the ongoing stand-off between the Hamas and Fatah factions could result in an unplanned trigger – a spontaneous combustion — to still another war in the Mediterranean enclave. Israel is willing to increase its assistance in Gaza if Hamas returns the bodies of two soldiers killed in the last war.
