A unit of Iran’s Lebanon-based terror organization Hizbullah has been discovered in the Syrian portion of the Golan Heights. The existence of the unit was revealed by Israel, which expressed concern that it could signal the opening of a front against the Jewish state as the Syrian civil war winds down and the fighting force that fought alongside Syrian regime forces of President Bashar Al-Assad is freed-up to undertake a new mischief. Israel has warned that it holds Syria and Assad responsible for any actions against Israel that are launched from the Golan. The Associated Press reports that the new unit’s commander was released for lack of evidence after he allegedly organized an attack that left five U.S. soldiers dead in 2012.
