Iran and Turkey Discuss Bilateral Relations, Regional Stability

Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi and Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan held a phone call on Saturday to discuss their countries’ relations and pressing regional matters, according to a statement from the Iranian Foreign Ministry.

During the conversation, Araghchi condemned what he called Israel’s “terrorist actions,” saying they were contributing to heightened tensions and instability across the region. He described the current situation as increasingly critical and called for closer consultation among Muslim nations, particularly between Iran and Turkey, to address these urgent challenges.

Araghchi also emphasized the importance of enhancing ties between Tehran and Ankara, expressing Iran’s willingness to engage in “constructive” dialogue aimed at expanding cooperation in various sectors.

Fidan congratulated Araghchi on his new role as foreign minister and reaffirmed Turkey’s commitment to strengthening bilateral discussions. He also underscored Turkey’s readiness to cooperate on key regional and international developments, with an eye toward improving political consultation and collaboration between the two countries.
