Iran Destroys Satellite Dishes to Preserve Families

Striking a blow against forces of evil that decimate families, Iranian authorities this week destroyed more than 100,000 satellite dishes before they could destroy morality. Quoting a state-run Iranian news agency, the French news agency AFP reported the demolition of the “morally harmful” equipment. According to Gen. Mohammad Reza Naghdi, the head of Iran’s Basij militia, satellite channels “deviate society’s morality and culture.” He was quoted as saying that, “What these televisions really achieve is increased divorce, addiction and insecurity in society.” Although it’s a criminal offense in Iran to own a satellite dish, the 100,000 dishes were said to have been “voluntarily surrendered.”
