On the same day Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu was issuing his stern warning against Iranian threats to Israel, Iran activated a home-made drone that the Israeli military shot down over a demilitarized zone before it could penetrate Israeli air space. The drone was operated by Iranian terror proxy Hizbullah, based in Lebanon. The incident unfolded when the unmanned craft lifted-off from Damascus airport heading toward Israel. The actual take-down was accomplished by a Patriot missile stationed in northern Israel, the debris landing on the Syrian side of the Golan Heights. The actual drone was an intelligence gathering model frequently used by Hizbullah.
