Iran apparently believes the best method for ending US sanctions against its businesses is to give the America a taste of its own medicine. Fifteen US companies including giants like Raytheon, ITT, United Technologies and ReMax are banned from entering into any agreements with Iranian firms and senior officials of those companies – past and present – will not be granted visas. The “tit-for-tat” element relates to sanctions placed by the United States on dozens of Iranian companies after the government violated agreements in February when it test-fired missiles. The state-run news agency also reported that in the event pending US legislation that would designate the Iranian Revolutionary Guard a terrorist organization comes into effect, Tehran would respond by applying the same designation to the US Central Intelligence Agency.
