Just as it begins loading fuel into the core of its nuclear reactor in Bushehr, Iran’s Atomic Energy Organization has announced plans to build two or three more reactors at the site. AEO Director Ali Akbar Salehi said work on the new reactors would start when the conditions were favorable. The nuclear chief also assured the neighboring countries that the Bushehr nuclear plant, which has often been sighted as a target for any strike on suspected nuclear weapons installations, was among the world’s reactors with the highest safety standards.
