Iran to Formally Protest Baghdad Arrests

Just hours after United States President George W. Bush launched a scathing attack on Iran, American troops arrested seven Iranians in the Iraqi capital, Baghdad, on Tuesday. The group has since been released. Tehran maintains those seized are workers in Iran’s Electricity Ministry. Tehran said it would formally protest to Baghdad about the arrests. Bush and his Iranian counterpart Mahmoud Ahmadi Nejad launched verbal attacks on one another’s policies on Tuesday. Bush referred to Iran’s “murderous activities,” while Ahmadi Nejad spoke of the fall in power of Iraq’s occupiers.
