An Iranian schoolteacher has built a robot to encourage young children to say their five-times daily prayer, reports the Associated Press. The robot can perform prayer movements, such as prostration, to show children the proper way to pray. Called “Veldan”, a Qur’anic term meaning “Youth of Heaven”, the teacher has registered the robot’s patent and hopes to start mass-producing them soon.
