Iranians gathered in Tehran on Friday to hold a shoe-throwing rally to mock U.S. President George W. Bush and to show support for the Iraqi journalist who hurled two shoes at the American president during a recent news conference in Baghdad. The trial of the journalist, Muntadar Al-Zaidi, is set to begin in the Iraqi capital. A Turkish firm is claiming to have made the shoes that Al-Zaidi threw at the president and says its orders have skyrocketed since the incident.
