Iran’s Houthi Terror Proxies Active in the Red Sea, including Israeli Waters of Eilat

While most of the international attention to Iranian terror-by-proxy is focused on Lebanon’s Hizbullah and Gaza-based Hamas terror organizations, watching the Ayatollah’s back along the entrance to the Red Sea is the Houthis, an ever-growing source of terror that within the past 24-hours launched terror operations at either end of the Red Sea. Both operations targeted ships with Israeli ownership and were said to be retaliation for a large Israeli counter-terror strike on Saturday that Houthi sources claim killed as many as 90 in the Gazan city of Khan Yunis.

The use of ballistic missiles against a ship in the Gulf of Aden and drones in the Red Sea waters of Eilat are of concern to Israel. Despite the US Central Command weighing in with a statement of concern for the danger the Houthis’ so-called “military operations” expose American forces to, Washington’s response to the latest incident was to move against two crewless (drone) weapons.
