Iran’s Missile Program “Non-Negotiable’’ and Aimed at Israel

Demands by the United States and European nations that Iran dial-down its ballistic missile development program are falling on deaf ears. On Tuesday, according to Iran’s Tasnim news agency, Iranian Defense Minister Hatami admonished critics that the Islamic Republic will continue to focus on improving the accuracy of its missile arsenal. Simultaneously, a senior officer in the Revolutionary Guard taunted Jerusalem, boasting of “meters’ long tunnels” beneath Israeli communities while thousands of rockets are aimed toward them from both southern Lebanon and the Gaza Strip. The Iranians delighted at references to former Israeli cabinet minister Gonen Segev who was sentenced to eleven years in prison for spying for Iran, referring to the “shame of the Zionist regime” turning ministers into informants.”
