Another curfew was imposed on Baghdad on Friday after violence spread to various parts of the country this week. Close to 150 people are believed to have been killed, including many civilians, as the Iraqi military took on Shi’ite fighters in the south and rockets and mortars were directed towards the ‘Green Zone’ in Baghdad. In a bid to end the standoff between the various factions, Iraqi MPs are gathering in the capital on Friday to try to eke out some form of agreement that would lead to an immediate cessation of the attacks.
