Iraqi “Secure” Compound Attack Kills 17, Wounds More than 50

An attack on a “secure” government compound in the western Iraqi city of Ramadi has left 17 dead and more than 50 wounded. The compound, which houses police and officials of the Anbar province, was also attacked earlier this month. Officials said there were two separate bomb blasts: the first in a minivan outside the compound and the second a suicide bomber who entered the compound. One official of Anbar province told the Reuters news agency that he believed Al-Qa’ida’s Iraqi branch was responsible for the attack.
