Moqtada Al-Sadr, a fiery Iraqi Shi’ite cleric and militia leader, has called for the formation of a special force to “liberate Jerusalem” in response to claims that US President Donald Trump intends to move the US embassy in Israel from Tel Aviv to Jerusalem. Sadr called the potential embassy move a “declaration of war on Islam” and threatened the US Embassy in Baghdad. His militia has been accused of atrocities against Sunnis in Iraq and he opposed the US role in Iraq.
